So. Some major life changes in the past two weeks have resulted in: a new computer (love that smell), which is the drawing machine I’ve wanted for like 20 years, and the search for the right name for a new business is on. And a new client and a teaching/advising job just sort of happened.
Funny how life works.
Here are three generations of Surface pens. One of these things is not like the other.

The surface book 2 15” is... honestly the best drawing tool I’ve ever used.

I have an SB1 Performance base, and it’s just an all around awesome computer. I haven’t seen the 15" in person yet. I assume this is a good thing for my poor wallet.

I had a gen 1 at my last job, and offered to buy it from them, but they wanted an insultingly-large amount for it. So I bit the bullet and bought the 15 with i7, 16GB, and smallest hard drive, along with the new pen.
It’s crazy— kind of the drawing tool I’ve been waiting 20 years for.

I use it to take notes in my engineering classes, primary, because i can’t draw to save my life, but it’s amazing for that, too.

Well... I’ve had a lot of practice. I used to do design requests, might resurrect that, too.

Really? I tried to use a surface something and didn’t find it as good, I quite like my old 27" Cintiq. Sensitivity or something seemed off to me.

It’s probably not as good as new-ish Wacom stuff, but the new-gen pen is way more sensitive (and has tilt), and the step up in sensitivity and lag is pretty huge. I didn’t really ever use my old SB1 for sketching, just the SP3.
